Vila Praia de Âncora
Located at Caminha Parish, Vila Praia de Âncora is one of the most fun and consistent beach breaks in the North of Portugal. A river mouth and a long beach is the "formula" for this spot and, although the south end picks up more swells and is more popular, crowds are not usually a problem.
What to do after surfing? Check out the Fort of Ínsua, a fort built in a tiny island in the middle of the estuary to defend the entrance to the river in the fifteenth century (more info HERE).

Works best on NW swell and often offers long lefts and rights and holds up to 6 feet surf.
