Reef was the original "Slab" in Portugal. By today's standards the name doesn't do it justice, but in the early 80's, when Ericeira became a major destination for the local surfers, it looked really heavy for the level of surfing at the time in Portugal. Still a wave for advanced level surfers only, this short but barreling right-hand point break is often surfed by the likes of Tiago Pires and many of his world class level friends.

What to do after surfing? You should check out the local gastronomy. Ericeira is a fishing village and plenty of seafood restaurantes as well as other local specialties. Check out a few options HERE!
